Literatura w oryginalny (Literature in the Original) is a publishing series presenting the most important works of world literature in bilingual English-Polish versions. George Orwell, born Eric Arthur Blair (1903-1950), was an English novelist, essayist, and journalist, one of the most important authors of the 20th century. He gained worldwide acclaim for his novel Animal Farm – a political allegory, a satire of a social system based on violence, and a warning against totalitarianism and the corrupting influence of authority.
